Fundraisers

Run a campaign with a fixed or flexible goal, back other artists’ projects, and support an artist monthly or once from their Atelier.

Starting A Campaign

  • Choose Create at the top of the page, then Start A Fundraiser.
  • Under Campaign Basics, add a title and subtitle, a Funding Goal, a currency and a Campaign End Date.
  • Pick a Funding Model. Flexible lets you keep everything raised, whether or not you reach the goal. Fixed (all-or-nothing) refunds every backer in full if you miss the goal by the end date.
  • Add a Cover Image (you can pick one from My Studio), an optional video link and your campaign story.
  • Choose Save Campaign to keep it as a draft, then Launch Campaign when you’re ready.

You need to complete verification on your profile before you can launch a campaign that takes real pledges. Once someone backs your campaign, its currency and funding model are locked.

Managing Your Campaign

Open My Campaigns to see each campaign’s status, how much it has raised and how many backers it has. Each campaign has these buttons:

  • Edit changes the title, story, goal or cover image.
  • View opens the campaign as backers see it.
  • Analytics shows confirmed pledges, the average pledge, how many started pledges were completed, pledges by day for the last 30 days, and how each reward tier is doing. It also says whether you’re raising enough each day to reach your goal by the end date.
  • Fulfillment lists confirmed backers who chose a physical reward, with their shipping address. Set each one to pending, shipped or delivered and add a tracking number. Changes save as you make them.
  • Share appears once the campaign is live and gives you a link that tracks what it brings in.

When A Campaign Ends

Once a campaign reaches its goal, it shows as fully funded and stops taking new pledges, even before the end date. Yeja checks once a day for campaigns past their end date and closes them:

  • Flexible: the campaign ends as funded, and you keep everything raised, whether or not you reached the goal.
  • Fixed (all-or-nothing), goal reached: the campaign ends as funded, and you keep what was raised.
  • Fixed, goal missed: the campaign closes, and every backer is refunded in full to the card they paid with.

Backing A Campaign

  • Open Discover to browse live campaigns. You need to be signed in.
  • Open a campaign to read its Story and comments, and to see how much it has raised, how many backers it has and how many days are left.
  • Choose Back This Project. Pick a reward tier, or choose Back Without a Reward and enter your own amount under Your Pledge.
  • Add any extras and, if your reward ships, your shipping details. Then choose Complete Pledge to pay by card.

Your card is charged when you pledge. If an all-or-nothing campaign misses its goal, every backer is refunded in full after the end date. On a flexible campaign, the artist keeps what is raised. Once a campaign reaches its goal, it shows as fully funded and stops taking new pledges. For what Yeja charges, see Pricing.

A reward tier can be limited. When it runs out, it shows Out of Stock. You can back the same campaign again: choose Back Again.

Monthly Support From An Atelier

An artist’s Atelier can show a support section once the artist has finished setting up payouts with Stripe. Monthly support has no goal or end date, and it isn’t tied to a campaign.

  • Pick a monthly amount or type your own, then choose Support. You need a Yeja account.
  • Enter your card. You’re charged today, then again every month until you cancel.
  • You can support each artist with one monthly amount at a time. To change it, cancel and start again.
  • To stop, open Wallet, then Settings, then Recurring Support, and choose Cancel next to the artist. Your support ends when the current month is up.
  • If people support you monthly, Recurring Support lists them under Your Supporters, with their amounts.

One-Time Support

Some Ateliers have a support band with set amounts in US dollars. Choosing one opens a Stripe checkout page where anyone can pay by card, with or without a Yeja account, and leave an optional note for the artist. The money goes to the artist’s connected Stripe account.

Yeja takes no fee on fundraiser pledges, monthly support or one-time support. Stripe’s processing fees and any taxes still apply.

Common Questions

Who can start a fundraiser?

Anyone signed in can create and save a draft. To launch it and take real pledges, you first need to complete verification on your profile.

When is my card charged?

When you complete your pledge. If the campaign is all-or-nothing and misses its goal, you are refunded in full.

Can I message the creator?

Yes, once you have backed the campaign. Open the Messages tab and choose Ask a Question.

Can I change the funding model after launch?

Only until someone backs the campaign. After the first pledge, the funding model and currency are locked.

What happens if a fixed campaign misses its goal?

Within a day after the end date, the campaign closes and every backer is refunded in full to the card they paid with.

Can I pledge after a campaign reaches its goal?

No. Once a campaign reaches its goal, it shows as fully funded and stops taking new pledges.

Does Yeja take a fee on pledges or support?

No. Yeja takes no fee on fundraiser pledges, monthly support or one-time support. Stripe’s processing fees and any taxes still apply.

How do I cancel monthly support?

Open Wallet, then Settings, then Recurring Support, and choose Cancel next to the artist. Your support ends when the current month is up.

Do people need an account to give one-time support?
